Le vie dei Tesori - The Ways of Treasures

 

Le Vie dei Tesori is one of the largest Italian festivals dedicated to the discovery of the heritage of Sicilian cities. A great opportunity for citizens to regain possession of the places and an extraordi- nary opportunity for tourists. It is a unique opportunity to access some treasures usually closed to the public, located in the various cities involved. These places are exceptionally made accessible through guided tours and special events.

Over four hundred and fifty treasures can be visited with a digital and smart system. Noble palaces, secret terraces, monasteries, churches and crypts, gardens, scientific museums: places usually closed or not told.

In 2020, the XIV edition will take place in fourteen cities and villages throughout the island, during the 9 weekends between September 12 and November 8, 2020.

It will start on September 12 with 7 cities, for three weekends, until September 27: Messina, Cal- tanissetta, Trapani, Marsala, Mazara del Vallo, Bagheria and Sambuca di Sicilia. On October 3 the baton will pass to Palermo, Monreale, Catania, Ragusa, Noto, Modica and Scicli, which will become major museums, visitable with a single coupon.

Terraces, gardens, domes, museums, churches, theaters, oratories, historical buildings, even un- derground paths and catacombs - most of which can be visited for the occasion - will be opened and recounted in respect of safety, but with a great desire to find eachother. Above all, Palermo becomes a city open to the world, which shows its most secret treasures, treasures of art, nature and science, and it does so in a contemporary way, following themes that are at once contempo- rary, historical and social.

Le Vie dei Tesori è uno dei più grandi festival italiani dedicati alla scoperta del patrimonio delle cit- tà siciliane. Una grande occasione per i cittadini di riappropriarsi dei luoghi e una straordinaria opportunità per i turisti. Si tratta di un’occasione unica per potere accedere ad alcuni tesori soli- tamente chiusi al pubblico, situati nelle varie città coinvolte. Tali luoghi vengono eccezionalmente resi fruibili attraverso visite guidate ed eventi speciali.

Oltre quattrocentocinquanta tesori visitabili con un sistema digitale e smart. Palazzi nobiliari, ter- razze segrete, monasteri, chiese e cripte, giardini, musei scientifici: luoghi in gran parte di solito chiusi o non raccontati.

Nel 2020, la XIV edizione si svolgerà in quattordici città e borghi di tutta l’Isola, nei 9 weekend compresi tra il 12 settembre e l’8 novembre 2020.

Si partirà il 12 settembre con 7 città, per tre weekend, fino al 27 settembre: Messina, Caltanisset- ta, Trapani, Marsala, Mazara del Vallo, Bagheria e Sambuca di Sicilia. Il 3 ottobre il testimone pas- serà a Palermo, Monreale, Catania, Ragusa, Noto, Modica e Scicli, che diventeranno grandi musei diffusi, visitabili con un unico coupon.

Terrazze, giardini, cupole, musei, chiese, teatri, oratori, palazzi storici, persino percorsi sotterranei e catacombe – in gran parte visitabili per l’occasione – saranno aperti e raccontati nel rispetto del- la sicurezza, ma con tanta voglia di ritrovarsi. Soprattutto Palermo diventa una città aperta al mondo, che mostra i suoi tesori più segreti, tesori d’arte, di natura e di scienze, e lo fa in un modo attuale, seguendo temi insieme contemporanei, storici e sociali.
