Farm Cultural Park è un centro culturale indipendente di nuova generazione con una forte attenzione all’arte contemporanea e all’innovazione.
Fondata nel giugno 2010 dal notaio Andrea Bartoli e dalla moglie Florinda Saieva, sorge all'interno del Cortile Bentivegna, un aggregato a sua volta costituito da sette piccoli cortili che ospitano piccoli palazzi ed è situato nei pressi del centro storico di Favara. Oltre che come museo si propone anche come centro culturale e turistico dove vengono allestite mostre pittoriche temporanee e installazioni permanenti di arte contemporanea.
Farm Cultural Park è stato definito come uno dei centri culturali indipendenti più influenti del mondo culturale contemporaneo e uno dei progetti più effervescenti di ripensamento e rinascita di città.
Trasformare un centro storico abbandonato in un attrattore culturale e turistico, sovvertire l'identità di una cittadina da sempre associata alla mafia, ai latitanti, all'abusivismo e al malaffare in un luogo di arte, cultura e sperimentazione, in una piccola capitale mondiale della rigenerazione urbana. Farm Cultural Park nasce da questo sogno.
Nel tempo Farm ha acquisito alcune delle abitazioni presenti nel centro storico di Favara, trasformandole in luoghi espositivi di arte contemporanea, spazi d'incontro, cucine a vista per workshop e pranzi, cocktail bar, shop vintage e altro ancora. L'area da abbandonata e degradata si è trasformata in un centro culturale e artistico in grado di attirare visitatori da tutto il mondo, con più di centomila turisti ogni anno.
Da individuale il loro sogno nel tempo si è trasformato in collettivo, condiviso con una piccola ma potente comunità di cittadini attivi che partecipa, progetta, per continuare a far diventare Favara sempre di più una città in cui si immagina e disegna il futuro, una città cosmopolita in cui è bello vivere, con un'ottima offerta abitativa, accogliente per giovani, studenti, creativi e stranieri e con tanti appuntamenti culturali durante tutto l'anno. Un luogo divertente in cui non può mancare una grande vita notturna. L'esperienza di Farm infatti negli anni si è estesa ed ha avuto effetti sull'intero centro storico, che si è rivitalizzato con l'apertura di locali attirando pubblico dai paesi limitrofi.
Il lockdown ha dato la conferma che la Farm è molto di più che un luogo fisico in cui svolgere le attività culturali e sociali: è una grande Comunità con la “C" maiuscola.
Il primo giorno di chiusura hanno subito trasferito sui social tutte le loro attività e avviato un nuovo progetto chiamato Fabbrica della Fiducia. Hanno contattato molti amici visionari per riflettere e immaginare nuovi scenari all'indomani dell'emergenza COVID-19. L'invito è stato a rispondere a una semplice domanda: Cosa potrebbe e dovrebbe diventare l'Italia e/o il Mondo non appena avrebbero messo il punto a questa terribile pandemia?
In meno di due mesi, sono nate altre 12 Fabbriche di Fiducia con altrettanti curatori e comunità di architetti, artisti, intellettuali. Ma non solo, sono nate anche delle Fabbriche di Fiducia under 14, under 18 e una Generazione Erasmus.
Nel frattempo i cancelli dei Sette Cortili che caratterizzano Farm sono stati riaperti.
Nel settembre scorso si sono alternati workshop, incontri online, installazioni e performance per promuovere il ruolo dell'architettura come catalizzatore sociale, attraverso la partecipazione di architetti urbanisti paesaggisti, artisti, antropologi, botanici e curatori provenienti da tutto il mondo.
Farm Cultural Park is a new generation independent cultural centre with a strong focus on contemporary art and innovation.
Founded in June 2010 by the notary Andrea Bartoli and his wife Florinda Saieva, it is located inside the Cortile Bentivegna, an aggregate in turn made up of seven small courtyards housing small buildings and situated near the historic centre of Favara. As well as a museum, it is also a cultural and tourist centre where temporary painting exhibitions and permanent contemporary art installations are held.
Farm Cultural Park has been defined as one of the most influential independent cultural centres in the contemporary cultural world and one of the most effervescent projects for the rethinking and rebirth of the city.
Transforming an abandoned historic centre into a cultural and tourist attraction, subverting the identity of a town that has always been associated with the Mafia, fugitives, illegal activities and malfeasance into a place of art, culture and experimentation, into a small world capital of urban regeneration. Farm Cultural Park was born from this dream.
Over time Farm has acquired some of the houses in Favara's historic centre, transforming them into contemporary art exhibition spaces, meeting spaces, open kitchens for workshops and lunches, cocktail bars, vintage shops and more. The abandoned and degraded area has been transformed into a cultural and artistic centre capable of attracting visitors from all over the world, with more than a hundred thousand tourists every year.
From an individual their dream over time has turned into a collective one, shared with a small but powerful community of active citizens who participate, plan, to continue to make Favara more and more a city where the future is imagined and designed, a cosmopolitan city where it is nice to live, with an excellent housing offer, welcoming to young people, students, creative people and foreigners and with many cultural events throughout the year. A fun place with a great nightlife. The Farm experience has spread over the years and has had an impact on the entire historic centre, which has been revitalised by the opening of clubs and attracting visitors from neighbouring towns.
The lockdown confirmed that Farm is much more than just a physical place to carry out cultural and social activities: it is a great Community with a capital 'C'.
On the first day of the lockdown they immediately transferred all their activities to social media and started a new project called Factory of Confidence. They contacted many visionary friends to reflect and imagine new scenarios in the aftermath of the COVID-19 emergency. The invitation was to answer a simple question: What could and should Italy and/or the World become as soon as they put a stop to this terrible pandemic?
In less than two months, another 12 Factories of Confidence were born with as many curators and communities of architects, artists and intellectuals. But that's not all, there are also under-14 and under-18 Trust Factories and an Erasmus Generation.
In the meantime, the gates of the seven courtyards that characterise Farm have been reopened.
Last September, workshops, online meetings, installations and performances were held to promote the role of architecture as a social catalyst, with the participation of landscape architects, artists, anthropologists, botanists and curators from all over the world.
